Welcome to Geego cms - an open source content management system for Ruby on Rails

Geego is for developers and designers that want to provide fully updatable websites for their clients.

Geego puts no restrictions on the content or layout of your public web pages.

The Geego project is very much alive with continual new development.

Geego has been in production since March 2006 and is currently at Version 1.2.6

Main Features:

• Fully flexible data structures. Create editable regions for small text, large text, images, flash, files, links, grids, nested grids and more. You define editable data structures. You design your own corresponding views to display your data as you would with any rails web app. No new syntax all straight ruby on rails.
  
• Supports multiple languages / localization. Create a site in one language. One year later add a new language and enter the text for each page in the new language. Edit images in one language and they will be updated across all languages (language speciifc images are also allowed). Geego can be used as a localization tool.
• Built in image upload and resizing/cropping + thumb creation. Images can be uploaded and set to any size by the end user or set to a certain size as determined by the developer/designer. Images can also be cropped as specified by the developer. Geegos resizing creates good quality images optimised for the web to 72dpi. Original image and thumbs can also be auto created and saved aswell as the resized main display image. End user can (optionally) edit the alt text and caption of an image.
• Edit then publish. Edit to your hearts content knowing that the new content will only be seen in the public website pages after you hit publish.
• Few steps, minimal clutter. Very simple and intuitive end user interface keeping training time of end user, to a minimum.
• Flexible. Can be used in conjunction with other systems or standard Ruby on Rails development.
• Multiple languages in administrative interface. Your clients can administer their website in their own language not just English. Currently only English, French and Italian are included but other languages can be added easily enough.
